Urban Ministries of Wake County Has Urgent Need for Volunteers

John Welch, Development Director for Urban Ministries of Wake County has reached out to us with an urgent request for volunteers to work in the food pantry on weekdays between 9 AM and 1 PM.  Due to a spate of job changes, illness, and injury, they are short-handed.  The food pantry relies on volunteers to pack groceries and load them into cars of families seeking their help.  Urban Ministries provides a week’s worth of groceries to up to 50 families every weekday.  These families typically face the choice of paying rent or buying food.  With your help, Urban Ministries can continue to offer them some hope.

If interested, please contact the Volunteer Manager for Urban Ministries of Wake County, Beverly Benitez, at bbenitez@urbanmin.org.

Many thanks to TYC member, Michael Gerhardt, for arranging this event.
