Get Involved!
There is still much to do for the TYC! We need volunteers to help us make this club great. Whether you have a limited amount of time to volunteer for a single event or want to help us govern this club with a larger role, we encourage you to join us! There are 3 ways to volunteer with us–please let us know you want to help!
1. Join the TYC board (email triangleyaleclub(at)gmail.com to express interest). This is a great leadership opportunity that allows you to help shape the direction of the club, while maintaining connections with your colleagues and friends. Go here for details on Club Administration and open positions.
2. Participate in our Community Service events, such as the Yale Day of Service.
3. Volunteer to conduct ASC interviews for local high school students applying for admission to the University. See below for more detail surrounding ASC interviews:
ALUMNI INTERVIEWING:
The Triangle Yale Club is looking for alumni volunteers to participate in interviewing Yale applicants attending RTP school districts. Early Action interviews are conducted between November 1st and December 1st. Regular Decision interviews are conducted between January 1st and Mid March. You can volunteer to participate during either time period or in both as long as you do not have a child applying to Yale in the same year.
Alumni interviews are an important contribution to the admission process and they take only an hour or two of your time. The opportunity to meet some of the most talented and accomplished high school students in your local community is often both a humbling and rewarding experience.
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions provides a thorough set of interview guidelines to help with the process through the ASC program. If you would like more information on the ASC program, please visit the ASC website. Returning interviewers are needed in the RTP area, and new volunteers are always welcome and greatly appreciated. If you are interested in interviewing for the Raleigh/ Durham area, please contact local director Reid Lerner at reidlerner@gmail.com.
NOTE: Although encouraged, you do not need to be a member of the Triangle Yale Club to participate in these alumni interviews.
